The estate\u2019s origins date back to the <strong>Middle Ages<\/strong>, when it belonged to the <strong>Captal de Buch<\/strong>, a influential lord of <strong>Bordeaux<\/strong>. Legend says that he once sold ten harvests of <strong>M\u00e9doc wine<\/strong> in advance to pay his ransom, proof of the vineyard\u2019s value even centuries ago.<\/p><p>In the 18th century, the property took a decisive turn with <strong>Jacques de Bergeron<\/strong>, a councillor in the <strong>Bordeaux Parliament<\/strong> and a true Enlightenment figure. Fascinated by agronomy, he carried out pioneering research on vine diseases, yields, and grafting. It was<br \/>built under Abdon d\u2019Armana (1824-1906), husband of<br \/>Caroline Le Quien de La Neufville, who was a niece<br \/>by marriage of the last Bergeron. The vineyards<br \/>grew in size.
