Château Lamothe-Bergeron, Blanc 2025

90% Sauvignon blanc, 6% Semillon, 4% Muscadelle

The nose opens with clean citrus notes, dominated by lemon, accompanied by white flowers and ripe yellow fruits reminiscent of peach and apricot. The palate shows a lively and taut attack, balanced with good volume and a harmonious texture. The ageing, finely integrated, brings structure without altering the aromatic purity of the fruit.
The finish is long and precise, marked by a beautiful saline and mineral expression, a signature of the clay-limestone soils. The overall impression is a balanced wine combining ripe fruit, tension and freshness.

Tasting notes & awards

through the eyes of the tasters

92-94/100 – Adrian Van Velsen – VINUM : “Ripe and complex on the nose; yellow peach, mango, lychee, citrus zest, spicy notes, and subtle barrel aromas define the bouquet; round and full-bodied on the palate, rich fruit, gripping acidity, opulent, yet not overloaded, the wood accompanies without dominating; good length on the finish with retronasal citrus notes. (Drink from 2026 to 2035)” 92-93/100 – James Sickling : “Toasty, medium- to full-bodied, with a good balance between its textural expression, salinity and freshness.” 92-93/100 – Alexandre Ma : “Cuvée Maxence 2025 carries a clean, gentle 3sweetness3, offering both crispness and freshness, along with an unexpected sense of drive. Notes of Asian pear and grapefruit peel emerge clearly, followed by broom flower with its honeyed floral tone, and a distinctive touch of white pepper spice. The acidity is bright and lifted, bringing a lively tension into what is otherwise a slightly rounded palate, setting a light and energetic rhythm throughout the tasting. Although 2025 is not a particularly favorable vintage for white wines, it still delivers a pleasantly surprising result and leaves me optimistic about its future development.”
